Huge Tesla recall hits almost a half-million EVs

In a surprising tour of events, 2021 can not prove to be an excellent year for Tesla. Various technical defects as much as 475,000 forced vehicles Tesla Inc. to recall these cars in the United States to recall nearly half a million cars are sufficiently bad, but like Bloomberg Note, this number is almost equivalent to delivery from Tesla last year. – And this applies to global deliveries, not only to those of the United States, this means that Tesla has been forced to recall almost as many cars as possible to produce and deliver over the past year.

Two types of vehicles are affected by the reminder: Model 3 and Model S, although model 3 has been struck stronger and is the vast majority. Tesla plans to recall up to 356,309 models of model 3 manufactured between 2017 and 2020. There are also up to 119,009 model vehicles, all from 2014, which are recalled due to technical defects.

Although the technical defects found in these two Tesla models can potentially be dangerous, it seems that Tesla chooses to act on time. The Company has received 2,305 warranty receivables that can be related to the problems encountered in Model S and Model 3 vehicles, but there has been no reports or deaths caused by these defects.

Why does Tesla call back model 3 and model cars?

Model 3 cars are recalled because of problems with the vehicle trunk. According to Tesla, the cable harness attached to the rear camera can be damaged by the opening and closing of the trunk. As a result, the camera fails unexpectedly, which could be dangerous.

The problems with model cars are more serious, even if the reminder affects a smaller part of Tesla deliveries. Tesla described the issue at the National Road Road Safety Authority (NHTSA) in an official depot. The front trunk latch in the model cars can potentially be misaligned. According to Tesla, this would mean that the secondary cover latch would not work and the front cover could fly to the open midway. As could obstruct the driver’s vision, this problem has the potential to cause more accidents than the problem with model 3 vehicles.

Although more model 3 vehicles are recalled, it seems that Tesla can do it widely as a precaution of security. From the point of view, TESLA estimates conclude that only 1% of model 3 cars will be affected by this problem. With regard to model vehicles, up to 14% of recalled cars can be affected by problems with the trunk latch before aligned.

What is the next for Tesla?

Bloomberg reports that Tesla’s actions have seen a drop of up to 3% potentially caused by the massive reminder. However, looking at the biggest image shows that Tesla can probably afford this: its stock has won about 50% just this year.

While claiming to recall nearly half a million cars is a big deal for Tesla, it’s not so rare in the industry as a whole. Nearly 28 million vehicles have been subjected to remember just 2020. All Tesla problems end with the reminder – almost all vehicles recently sold in China (more than 285,000) had to receive an update of the software Earlier this year because of a security issue that has now been solved.

Tesla hopes to solve the problems with the two models of cars. According to Tesla, the problem of models of the model S is something that vehicle owners can easily repair in a service center. Owners of 3-cars models will require larger repairs than Tesla committed to dealing with a new cable harness and guidance protector.
